At Jue's Taekwon-Do, our instructors are highly acclaimed in the martial art industry. They are all ITF certified instructors and have competed extensively, both in the national and international arena.
Master Gordon Jue, IX Dan
Master Gordon Jue is a 9th-degree black belt and the owner and head instructor, with more than 40 years of teaching experience and nearly 50 years of martial arts training. He began his martial arts journey in 1976 and started training in Taekwon-Do (Korean Karate) in 1979.
Internationally certified to teach through the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF), Master Jue has dedicated his life to the development of Taekwon-Do and its students. He has served as an official ITF umpire since 2006, officiating at national and international competitions.
In 2007, Master Jue served as Head Coach of Team USA at the ITF World Championship in Birmingham, England, helping guide American competitors on the international stage.
Recognized as a pioneer of Taekwon-Do in California, Master Jue has trained numerous national and world champions throughout his career. Before becoming a coach and instructor, he was an accomplished regional and national competitor himself.
Master Jue believes Taekwon-Do is about more than competition. His teaching focuses on developing discipline, confidence, physical fitness, perseverance, and practical self-defense skills in students of all ages.
This version is strong for a website, commercial lease proposal, school profile, or marketing material. I can also make it more prestigious/9th-Dan focused if this is being submitted to a landlord or used to establish the credibility of a new Taekwon-Do school.
Mr. William Wold, V Dan
Mr. William Wold is an international instructor with over 40 years of experience in martial arts. Trained in Bok Fu, Kempo Karate, Jiu Jitsu, and stick fighting, Mr. Wold joined Jue’s Taekwon-Do when he saw the high quality training and skills of the students. Mr. Wold is one of Jue’s Taekwon-Do’s most knowledgeable practitioners, and he brings his many life experiences and technical know-how to his classes.
Ms. Sheri Ambriz, V Dan
Mrs. Sheri Ambriz is a 5th-degree black belt and accomplished national and international Taekwon-Do competitor. She has represented the United States at the ITF World Championships, earning multiple medals on the international stage.
At the 2014 ITF World Championships in Rome, Italy, Sheri earned bronze medals in both Patterns and Sparring. She continued her international success at the ITF World Championships in 2016, earning bronze in Patterns, bronze in Sparring, and gold in Destruction in the Senior Female division.
In addition to her competitive accomplishments, Sheri brings years of dedication and experience to her teaching at Jue's Taekwon-Do. She is passionate about helping students develop the discipline, confidence, perseverance, and skills that Taekwon-Do provides.
Mr. Pete Spraggins, V Dan
Mr. Pete Spraggins is a 5th-degree black belt with more than 50 years of martial arts experience. He began his Taekwon-Do training in 1971 while attending San Jose State University and joined Jue’s Taekwon-Do in 2006.
Mr. Spraggins is an ITF International Instructor and Class A International Umpire, with extensive experience teaching, coaching, and officiating at national and international Taekwon-Do competitions.
He has served as a coach for Team USA at three ITF World Championships, including the 2010 World Championships in South Korea, the 2012 World Championships in Canada, and the 2014 World Championships in Italy. He has also coached and helped prepare numerous Jue’s Taekwon-Do competitors for national and international competition.
As an instructor, coach, and international official, Mr. Spraggins brings more than five decades of martial arts experience to his teaching. His combination of technical knowledge, competitive experience, coaching expertise, and international officiating experience makes him an important part of the Jue’s Taekwon-Do instructional team.
Mr. Derek Leung, V Dan
Mr. Derek Leung is a 5th-degree black belt with more than 25 years of martial arts experience. He began his martial arts training in 2000 and joined Jue’s Taekwon-Do in 2001, training alongside his father. Since then, he has competed extensively in local, national, and international Taekwon-Do tournaments.
Derek is also an experienced instructor and leader. While attending California State University, Sacramento, he founded the university’s Taekwon-Do Club, serving as both its President and Instructor. This experience provided him with an opportunity to develop his leadership and teaching skills while introducing Taekwon-Do to fellow college students.
Derek earned his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento. His academic background, combined with his martial arts experience, has contributed to his ability to teach with discipline, structure, and professionalism.
Derek continues to train and teach at Jue’s Taekwon-Do, where he works with students of various ages and experience levels. Taekwon-Do is also a family tradition for Derek, who currently trains alongside his sister, Valerie.
Ms. Helen Lee, V Dan
Ms. Helen Lee is an accomplished 5th-degree black belt with a lifetime of experience in Taekwon-Do. She began training at the age of four and has competed extensively at the local, national, and international levels.
One of Helen's greatest competitive achievements came at the 2012 ITF World Championships in Canada, where she won the Gold Medal in Patterns, becoming an ITF World Champion. Her experience as a high-level competitor has given her a strong understanding of both the technical and competitive aspects of Taekwon-Do.
Helen continued her involvement in Taekwon-Do throughout her college years at the University of California, Riverside, where she served as President of the ITF Taekwon-Do Club. This leadership experience further developed her ability to teach, organize, and mentor other students.
For more than five years, Helen has been a valuable member of the Jue's Taekwon-Do instructional and coaching team. She brings her experience as a World Champion, competitor, leader, instructor, and coach to every class. Helen is particularly passionate about helping students develop discipline, confidence, perseverance, and strong Taekwon-Do fundamentals.
Her combination of lifelong training, international competition experience, championship achievement, and teaching leadership makes Helen an important part of the Jue's Taekwon-Do team and a positive role model for students of all ages.
Mr. David Jue, IV
Mr. David Jue is a 4th-degree black belt who began his Taekwon-Do journey at the age of five. Growing up in the Jue's Taekwon-Do family, David has dedicated much of his life to training, competition, and the continued development of Taekwon-Do.
David has competed at the highest levels of international Taekwon-Do, participating in one World Cup Championship, three ITF World Championships, and one World Games Championship. He achieved an impressive top-three finish in all five international championships, demonstrating a remarkable level of consistency against some of the world's best competitors.
Among his greatest accomplishments are 1st-place finishes at the 2014 ITF World Championships in Italy and the 2023 World Games Championships in Korea, making him both a World Champion and World Games Champion.
David graduated from the University of California, Riverside, where he continued his involvement in Taekwon-Do and developed his leadership and teaching skills. Today, he is continuing the Jue's Taekwon-Do legacy as an instructor at Jue's Taekwon-Do and coach for Team Jue, helping the next generation of students and competitors reach their potential.
David's combination of elite international competition experience, championship titles, coaching ability, and lifelong dedication to Taekwon-Do makes him an important part of the Jue's Taekwon-Do instructional team.
