The story

To be the best that you can be, this can only be achieved by challenging yourself. Competition is one of the best ways to push your limits. Striving to be the best sets our standards high.

It all started in 2006 when Grandmaster Jue took a small team to Australia for their first junior world championships. This tournament kickstarted the next 17 years of world level competitions for our studio. With every event attended, our students got a little bit better, more confident, more focused.

Squad has been designed to take our students beyond their comfort zone. Join us on this amazing martial art opportunity!

Goals of Squad

  • Preparing students for tournaments - NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY

(World cup, World Games, ITF open tournaments, world championships)

  • With Consistent in-depth tournament training + attending more Competitions, you will take your Taekwon-Do skills to the next level

  • coaches for trainings

    • This is subject to change depending on the training.

  • coaches at tournaments

Tentative Timeline

Train as a team, win as a team

Trainings in Squad

Trainings will be held once per month for 2 hours on a Sunday morning from 8 AM to 9:50 AM at the Pleasanton studio from end of February to end of August.

The coaches in attendance are the instructors of Jue’s Taekwon-Do. These monthly trainings are mandatory.

The training schedule is dependent on the applicants. Trainings may be split into two groups: Team A and Team B depending on the number of applicants, skillsets, and rank. Students that have made it to Team B, the trainings will be on Saturday morning from 8 AM to 9:50 AM at the San Ramon location.

The first training will be March 1 depending on the number of applicants and which team they are selected to.

Things to Know

  • We hope so! However, being part of Squad does not mean you are guaranteed to win and vice versa. The important part is training a lot and being focused while training.

  • All students may attend any tournament they wish to, regardless of whether or not they are on Squad.

  • Students focused on competition should be attending the later classes such as the 8 PM class. Before Squad, the only training options our black belts and instructors had were attending weekday classes and black belt class.

  • Students that are not part of Squad will not be able to participate in Squad trainings.

  • You can attend any extra events at your choosing. For any events that are not listed, there may not be a coach attending.
